Our 2025-2026 Grant Cycle Is Open!
The Montgomery County Educational Foundation is excited to announce that our 2025-2026 grant cycle is open now through July 18 @ 5 pm. BACK THIS YEAR - Our own process! For the past two years, we combined our grant application process with the Community Foundation. To better serve our educators and provide them with two opportunities to apply for funds, we will run our own grant process in parallel with the Community Foundation going forward. For information on the Community Foundation’s grant program, visit their website here.
MCPS educators, support organizations (such as PTAs/PTOs, Head Start, NRVJDH, etc.), and students may apply for grants up to $2,000. The MCEF seeks to fund innovative and engaging projects that enhance student learning beyond the standard curriculum or provide unique experiences that fall outside the scope of MCPS funding. For MCEF grant cycle questions, applicants should contact Connie Froggatt at (540) 382-5100 X1098 or by email at info@montcoef.org.
The MCEF will conduct an online grant workshop at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 5th. Applicants interested in attending must RSVP for the Zoom link by emailing the MCEF at info@montcoef.org. The session will be recorded, but in-person attendance is encouraged in order to ask questions for those who have never applied for an MCEF grant or have never used the MCEF online application that was utilized prior to 2023.
Per MCPS policy, all grant awards must be approved by the School Board. MCPS has a new Director of Grants, Innovation, and Partnerships, Dr. Matt Dunleavy, who is available to support MCPS grant applicants anytime they are applying for a grant. MCPS applicants are required to submit ALL grant proposals to Dr. Dunleavy to facilitate School Board approval, and they are also encouraged to use his services when writing their proposal. Dr. Dunleavy can also advise MCPS applicants on which grant programs best serves their needs. He can be reached at mattdunleavy@mcps.org.
Grant notifications will go out in September. Grant recipients or their designee are required to attend the Grant Awards Recognition tentatively scheduled for November 11th during the School Board meeting. All grant recipients will be required to submit a Grant Final Report due not later than June 1, 2026.
To all those who to apply, the MCEF and MCPS extend their sincerest thanks for wanting to improve your students' educational experience!
